LEGOLAND Saves Christmas

The Brief:

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre had to temporarily close its doors when the Covid-19 pandemic broke.  The much-loved family attraction, based at Trafford Palazzo, Trafford City, challenged The Strong Agency with keeping the business front of mind with families across the North West whilst sensitively navigating the social agenda.

Our Strategy:

Christmas is, under normal circumstances, a time of magic and sparkle.  When the pandemic unfolded, however, families were faced with a Christmas like no other.  With the doors to businesses closed, alfresco events were the centre of all social activity.  When Manchester City Council had to make the difficult decision to cancel the annual Christmas light switch-on therefore, families were understandably devastated.  Determined to keep the festive magic alive The Strong Agency brought LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester to the rescue and recreated the annual event for families to enjoy virtually in their own home.  Working closely with the team at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre the iconic Manchester Christmas markets were built in MINILAND and plans put in place for a magical Christmas switch-on.  Treating the event like any other, this was seeded to press, featured on listing sites, and promoted through social media, with the LEGO MINILAND Manchester activity firmly placed in family’s diaries.  On the day itself, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre’s much-loved characters led the countdown, as MINILAND Manchester was illuminated in lights.

The Results

This campaign was effective not only in reaching the target audience, but engaging them.  It recognised a problem and addressed it, creating a magical encounter for families to look forward to when little was normal.  It delivered real value, an encounter that wouldn’t be forgotten.  Families were quick to praise LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester for the activity with one parent commenting “Thank you LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, you have made my children smile and brought a little magic to our family this Christmas.”  The coverage and social reach was impressive attracting thousands of core family viewers for the switch on whilst driving blanket media coverage across the region.

    Sea Life Manchester

    Creating Waves For SEA LIFE

    The Brief:

    SEA LIFE Manchester had to temporarily close its doors when the Covid-19 pandemic broke.  The leading family attraction, based at Trafford Palazzo, Trafford City, challenged The Strong Agency with keeping the business front of mind whilst sensitively navigating the social agenda.

    Our Strategy:

    The Strong Agency delivered, expertly hijacking the news agenda to generate waves of standalone coverage.  From ‘Love on the Rocks’, the tale of Sea Life’s giant green sea turtles which had, like many isolating Brits, developed a rift during lockdown, to ‘Tipping the Scales’, the story of an overweight turtle put on a strict vegan diet and timed perfectly to piggyback news of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper referring to Donald Trump as an obese turtle, Strong was swimming with creative content.

    The Results:

    The Strong Agency’s campaigns saw the media awash with news of SEA LIFE Manchester, exceeding all client expectations.  Highlights included top tier outlets such as The Times; The Daily Telegraph; The Sun; Daily Star; The Independent; Radio 4; The Manchester Evening News; MSN; Yahoo News; BBC Radio Manchester and The Manc.

      Groobarbs Field Kitchen

      Seeding Growth For Groobarbs Field Kitchen

      The Brief:

      Groobarbs Field Kitchen is an independent field-to-fork restaurant located in High Legh, Cheshire.  Launched in August 2022 to customers of sister vegetable delivery box business, Groobox, the business tasked The Strong Agency with planting the seeds for future growth and delivering an impactful communications campaign with reach to the core Cheshire and NW audience.

      Our Strategy:

      Drawing on the agency’s extensive knowledge of the hospitality sector and the media, The Strong Agency cultivated a campaign that would reap the rewards for Groobarb’s Field Kitchen. Our strategy saw no stone unturned, with every news opportunity uncovered.  It provided not only reach to the target audience but a reason for the audience to engage.  The agency also advised on the business’s operations and wider marketing activity.

      The Results:

      They say that from little seeds mighty trees grow and that couldn’t be more true of The Strong Agency’s campaign for Groobarbs Field Kitchen.  Our expert approach saw extensive coverage harvested month after month with 215 brand mentions enjoyed in 50 standalone features and with reach to an incredible 32m target readers.  Coverage saw 100% key message placement. 100% of all digital coverage also included a backlink to the restaurant, equating to 90% of all features.  The Strong Agency’s activity saw Groobarbs Field Kitchen described as an “extraordinary dining experience” by the Manchester Evening News.  In October 2023 the field-to-fork restaurant was proud to be recognised in the 2023 Taste Cheshire Awards and crowned Best Large Restaurant.

        Sky Bar Terrace

        Shooting High For Sky Bar Terrace, Liverpool

        The Brief:

        Premium hospitality group Upmarket Leisure tasked The Strong Agency with delivering the launch of its new Sky Bar Terrace at INNSiDE Liverpool hotel.  The highest alfresco bar in the city, the opening was to elevate Liverpool’s restaurant and bar offering to new heights.

        Our Strategy:

        Sky Bar Terrace required no theatre; the chic venue’s world-class cocktails and unrivalled views of Liverpool’s iconic waterfront set the stage for a stylish and discerning crowd.  A venue to be experienced, experiences are exactly what The Strong Agency delivered.  In abundance.  Drawing on our extensive network of contacts a carefully targeted programme of media, influencer, and ambassador experiences were facilitated, driving sustained exposure and reservations throughout the season.  Coupled with an impactful launch story, coverage levels for the chic venue were sky high.

        The Results:

        The Strong Agency’s campaign delivered blanket standalone feature coverage in all target media.  Coupled with sustained high profile influencer, media and ambassador content generated throughout the season, Sky Bar Terrace was the talk of the city.  The venue is now rightfully recognised as one of Liverpool’s most coveted destinations.
